Media Lab & Sound Booth


The media lab in the John Labatt Visual Arts Centre, features a 25 station Macintosh computer hybrid classroom-workspace. The computers are available to students enrolled in media courses. The lab is equipped with multi-media software which includes: Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Affinity Photo, Affinity Designer, DaVinci Resolve, Unity, and Blender. Students also engage in digital 3D model production for 3D print and basic web design.

Full-time technical staff provide students and faculty with technical support.



A stand-alone sound lab is equipped with 2 AKG C 3000 microphones, Shure SM7B dynamic microphone, Event 20/20 monitors, Audio Technica Turntable, Pro Fx Mackie Mixer, Focusrite Scarlett audio interface, cassette tape deck, and keyboard, to provide students with an opportunity to record and mix audio on a Mac Pro running Logic Pro and Audacity.

The Sound Booth is only available for use by Visual Arts students and faculty.

A private media suite in the Digital Resource Library offers graduate students and faculty more expansive research facilities for development of digital video, audio and web projects. This bookable space includes surround sound speakers and 24 hour access.

Full-time technical staff provide students and faculty with technical support.
